A 3rd will do at Lincoln

In night #1 of the UMP Fall Nationals at Lincoln Speedway, the B-Mods (or Pro Mods, as UMP calls them) were up to be split up into groups for qualifying, run their heat races, and feature for the night. Deal, keeping his track record alive for one more year, nabbed the pole in his group. However, in the heat race, Billy Knebel got the jump on the outside to rally past Deal for the heat win. Deal fended off a hard-charging Tommy Sheppard, Jr. for 2nd place.

Fast forward to the feature, the racetrack offered two evenly proportioned grooves of racing. The bottom was mostly dominant but also offered a competitive topside. Deal spent the first couple of laps running the top, but had to dive to the bottom pass by Billy Knebel. By the time Deal found his groove on the bottom, the two leaders Deece Schwartz and Guy Taylor were long gone. The race stayed green almost the entire way until a stopped Brandon Bollinger brought a caution out. This brought out a green, white, checkered for the field. Deal maintained his pace in 3rd place and brought it home in one piece.

Overall, it was a good first night to get things rolling at a place that Deal really likes to race at. We will be looking to go back-to-back in UMP Fall Nationals Night #2 tomorrow.
